John came to Swarthmore a very insecure individual. I watched him grow in confidence and self-assurance through our first year. If John’s life hadn’t ended do early and tragically, he would have been one of Swarthmore’s great success stories. He was starting to let go of his crutches—fast cars and a “Playboy” consumerism. He was very knowledgable about jazz, and his family gave his collection to the College, where it was kept in a room in Bond (I think)where one could go and listen in a relaxed setting. He was my friend, and I miss him. BTW, Jeff Hart, that picture is NOT a picture of John Perdue. I have no idea who it is
